How to achieve the ultimate Skin-Kind wax with Wax Logic UK...

1. CONSULTATION

A thorough consultation should be completed prior to every treatment, whether it is your client's first treatment or their fiftieth! We also recommend sharing our pre-treatment instructions with your client upon booking to ensure they don't do or use anything to contraindicate their treatment on the day. It is really important to consult your client at every treatment to ensure that they have had no medical changes since their previous visit.

2. ORGANISE YOUR SETUP

Ensure everything you need for your treatment is out and ready to use. We recommend pre-pumping your cotton pads with your choice of Wax Logic UK prep and aftercare lotions and setting them out for a 'quick grab' to ensure the treatment from start to finish is swift and smooth.

3. DETAILED PREP AND HYGIENE

This is the foundation of any successful wax. Our pre-treatment products have been purposefully formulated to enable you to create the perfect pre-wax canvas. Our Be Prepared lotion is completely state of the art and unique to us; its dual technology both sanitises and exfoliates to dissolve and remove dead skin cells, surface oils and debris, for better wax performance and skin health. Not only does this create a perfectly prepped and primed treatment area, it will also reduce chances of surface bacteria entering the skin and causing infection to the follicles.

4. ENSURE YOUR WAX IS AT ITS OPTIMUM TEMPERATURE

Our warm waxes have been formulated with 'safe heat technology', meaning that they have been designed to be safely used at the same temperature as hot wax at between 55°C - 65°C. As the quantity in your tin decreases, you will need to reduce the temperature of your wax heater accordingly. The best way of ensuring the optimum temperature of your wax is to monitor its consistency and do the Drizzle Test: Dip a clean spatula into your tin and allow the wax to drizzle off the spatula, back in to the tin. When the wax is at the optimum temperature it will blend back into the tin of wax seamlessly, leaving NO ripples! When using our hot wax, the consistency must not be stringy in any way (this means that it is not hot enough!) Please note that for delicate treatment areas, such as for nasal waxing and intimate waxing, the wax should be slightly cooler so a full tin would sit in the wax heater at 50°C - 55°C.

5. ADAPT TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS/ CLIENT'S NEEDS

In adverse weather conditions you may need to adjust the temperature of your wax heater. For example, if your workplace gets especially warm on a hot day then you will need to reduce the temperature of your wax heater to suit. Make sure you always test the temperature of the wax on your own and your client's wrist to ensure it is safe before commencing your treatment. If the client arrives at their treatment feeling particularly hot, make sure to apply a layer of 'Second Skin' powder, after cleansing and prior to application of the wax, to create a protective barrier on the skin. Equally, if it is a particularly cold day, the temperature of your wax heater may need to be increased (keep doing the Drizzle Test, as above, to monitor it). If the client arrives at their treatment feeling particularly cold, make sure to warm them up prior to the treatment taking place (consider wrapping them in a heated blanket during your consultation and set up stages) to ensure their skin is ready for the treatment when you begin.

6. ENSURE THE SKIN IS TAUT DURING APPLICATION

This may be done in various ways depending on the treatment area/ skin type, where necessary.

7. EVEN APPLICATION

The beauty of using the revolutionary Wax Logic UK waxing range is that less is more. Its higher temperature means that it glides onto the skin effortlessly and minimises mess and wastage. Just make sure to swipe off any excess wax from the underside of your spatula on the side of the tin as you remove it from the wax pot. You will then find that your wax application is super efficient. Due to the higher temperature and thinner application, the wax effectively shrink wraps each and every hair for flawless removal; first time, every time. This negates the need for reapplication saving time, product and unnecessary trauma to the client's skin.

8. REMOVE WITH CARE AND ATTENTION TO THE SKIN AT ALL TIMES

This is exceptionally important; when removing the wax it is vital to always remember to do three things: Firstly, stretch the skin/ always ensure the skin is taut during removal. Secondly, always pull along the contour of the skin and NEVER upwards (as this will cause the skin to pinch and ultimately result in trauma/ bruising!) Finally, remove the wax at the same speed that you would instinctively pull your hand away from touching a hot stove - very fast and with no hesitation!

9. APPLY AFTERCARE

Our aftercare products, to apply post-wax, have been purposefully formulated to add additional nourishment and hydration to the skin. They all benefit the skin to cool, calm and soothe and contain no parabens, artificial colours or additives.

10. EDUCATE YOUR CLIENT

Make sure that your client maintains the excellent treatment results you have created, by sharing with them clear aftercare advice and make sure they know what could happen to their treatment area if they don't follow it correctly. We also recommend sharing this information with your client upon booking to ensure that they don't make inappropriate plans that may affect their waxing results (such as head off for a swim straight after their appointment!)
